Hack for Humanity is a beginner friendly AI hackathon where you’ll spend the day turning an idea into something real. You don’t need prior hackathon experience or knowledge - just curiosity and a willingness to build. Come solo or with friends, form a team, and create an AI powered solution to a real community challenge with support along the way. You’ll get hands on experience with AI, meet other students who want to build, and finish the day by showcasing what you created to a judging panel. Whether this is your first hackathon or you’ve built before, Hack for Humanity is designed to be approachable, collaborative, and a great place to try something ambitious!

The AI Collective at UC San Diego is a student led chapter of The AI Collective, a global nonprofit community dedicated to bringing people together around artificial intelligence. Our chapter makes AI accessible to students of all backgrounds through beginner friendly workshops, collaborative projects, speaker events, and hackathons. We help students gain hands on experience, connect with peers and industry professionals, and explore how AI can address real world challenges and create positive social impact.
