One Saturday. One café. Your idea, built with AI.
Hacktoberfest 2026 is about open-source AI, and this Hack Day is for people who would rather build than watch. Bring a half-baked idea (or none at all) and by 15:00 you'll have something running, in front of a room of people who get it.
HOW THE DAY WORKS
- Come solo or with friends. Teams of up to 3, formed on the spot if you need one.
- Pick your own idea: a bot, a script, a tool, an agent, a weird experiment. If you built it and it uses AI, it counts.
- Use whatever helps you build: open-weight models, open-source tools, or an AI coding assistant. Projects that are open source and use open-weight models get extra love in the final vote.
- At the end, push your project to a public repo (we'll help if it's your first time) and show a 2-minute demo.
- No judging panel. Friendly demos, and the room votes for its favourites.

Students, graduates, developers and self-taught tinkerers, 18+. Never touched an AI API before? Perfect, that's exactly who we're hoping for.
Hosted by Tea && Compile, a new open-source and Linux community in Baku.
Locations have different requirements for who can attend. This location is open to the following:
Overview of the Agent Skill Open Standard and SKILL.md authoring.
Open link →Guide to deploying and integrating large open-weight LLMs.
Open link →Local setup and edge execution for models under 10B parameters.
Open link →Setting up and orchestrating workflows using open-source agent harnesses.
Open link →A practical plan for your first AI hack day: check for existing projects, shrink your idea, pick tools that work on an ordinary laptop, build in thin slices, publish as open source, and deliver a 2-minute demo.
Open link →I am a first-year master's student and developer based in Baku, Azerbaijan, organizing this event independently. My goal is to bring the local developer community together - students from any university, recent graduates, and self-taught developers - to learn about and build with open-source AI tools. This is the first Hacktoberfest event in Baku, and I want to create an accessible entry point into open source for people here.
