Nos vemos no Hack Day!

What better way to spend Halloween than hunting bugs instead of ghosts? On October 31st, FLUSP — FLOSS at USP is hosting Hacktoberfest 2026 for a full day of experimentation, learning, and collaborative building at the CCSL, at IME-USP.
This year's Hacktoberfest comes with a new focus: Open-Source AI. Instead of simply counting pull requests, the goal is to get hands-on with open-weight models, open-source AI tools, and agents — learning together, experimenting, and actually building things.
There couldn't be a better place for it. FLUSP is a community of USP students dedicated to contributing to free and open-source software, with a culture built around knowledge sharing, code review, mentoring, and collaboration. The group holds weekly meetings at the CCSL, a space at IME dedicated to fostering free and open-source software.
During the Hack Day, we'll put that philosophy into practice: form teams, explore ideas, build projects, and learn from one another. You don't need to be an AI expert or arrive with a fully formed project — bring your curiosity, your willingness to build, and, preferably, your laptop.
And yes: it's Halloween. So be ready for terrifying bugs, mysterious model behavior, and maybe even a supernatural merge.
Open code, open ideas, and a whole Saturday to build. See you at Hack Day!
