Event Description

Join us for Hacktoberfest Hack Day at Don Bosco College of Engineering, hosted by the Coders Club with Major League Hacking, on 31 October. This year, Hacktoberfest is all about open-source AI and open-weight models, and we're bringing the celebration to the city of Margao.

You'll spend the day building for the challenges listed on this page. That could mean running a model on your own laptop, building a tool on top of an open model, or fixing a problem you've been meaning to get to. You'll also have a room full of people working on similar things, which makes it easier to get unstuck and pick up new ideas.

Whether you're trying a local LLM for the first time or you're an experienced developer testing out something new, there's room for you here. Teams are welcome, solo builders are welcome, and mentors will be around to help when you're stuck. Winners will take home swag, and winners of the partner challenges will receive prizes from our partners. Come with an idea, or find one on the day, and leave with something you built.

**Team of 3 is a must!!

  • 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM: Registration and check-in. Keep your confirmation handy so we can get everyone checked in quickly.
  • 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM: Opening remarks. We'll go over the Code of Conduct, the challenges, the submission link and the deadline.
  • 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM: Build time. Start on your project and work on the challenges you've picked. There's no fixed lunch break, so eat and rest whenever suits you, or keep building if you're on a roll. Refreshments will be provided.
  • 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM: Judging rounds. There are formal demos. Participants must showcase their projects to the audience/judges, so be ready to explain what you built and how it works in a couple of minutes.
