Event Description

One day. One room. Your first merge.

Hacktoberfest runs all of October: you open pull requests on open-source projects and maintainers accept them. This is the in-person day for it in San Antonio, with a room full of people doing the same thing and organizers who have done it before.

RowdyLaunch, UTSA's student-run startup organization, is hosting. We help students find cofounders and get their first projects in front of investors. Shipping code is how most founders start, so we are running this day.

How it works
1. Register and bring a laptop with Git and a GitHub account.
2. Pick an issue at the morning briefing, from a project you already use.
3. Ship it. Fix it, open the pull request and get it reviewed before you leave.

Work alone or in a team of up to four. Organizers walk the tables all day, and no prior open-source experience is needed.

Who: University students and working professionals
Bring: Laptop, charger, GitHub account
Where: UTSA Business Building, room BB 2.01.06, 5 Paseo Del Norte, San Antonio, TX 78249. Follow the RowdyLaunch signs from the entrance. Outlets are shared, so bring a charger.
