Hacktoberfest - AI Community Lucknow,
Saturday, 31 October 2026 · Lucknow · In person
Hosted by AI Community Lucknow, in collaboration with Major League Hacking
The last day of Hacktoberfest. One room, one day, and whatever it takes to get your pull requests merged before the month runs out.
Hacktoberfest is a month-long celebration of open source, and most people start it with good intentions and finish it at 11 PM on the 31st. This is that night, except you're not doing it alone. Bring your laptop, find an issue, and ship it with maintainers and experienced contributors sitting next to you.
Who this is for
Complete beginners who have never opened a pull request and want their first one merged, and experienced contributors closing out their final PRs. Both work here. If you have never touched open source before, the first session is built for you.
What happens on the day
Onboarding for first-timers: Git and GitHub basics, how to fork, branch, commit and open a pull request, and how to read a contributing guide
Issue matching: we help you find issues that fit your skill level and language, from documentation to real bug fixes
Contribute to UPAI Labs projects: our own open-source repositories, including NAWAB AI, LucknowLLM, UPAI RAG, Sign Language Translator and lucknow-live-events, with maintainers in the room to review your PR on the spot
Contribute anywhere: work on any Hacktoberfest-participating project you like
Maintainer support: experienced contributors help you unblock, review your work and improve your PR before you submit
Live leaderboard: track merged PRs through the day
What you need to bring
A laptop with Git installed and a GitHub account
A Hacktoberfest registration. Register at hacktoberfest.com and check this year's rules and PR requirements before you arrive.
Any language or stack. Documentation contributions count too.
What you leave with
Merged pull requests, your name in project histories, the confidence to contribute again in November, and a network of people who do this regularly. Contributors to UPAI Labs projects who keep going are invited into our maintainer group.
Free to attend. Limited seats.
Locations have different requirements for who can attend. This location is open to the following:
