Event Description

This is our first time running a Hacktoberfest event and we're super excited about it. Come along to Engineered Arts HQ, meet other people who enjoy to build things (with open source), and spend the day working on your project. Doesn't matter if you're deep into open source already, just curious about it, or simply like to code.

This year's challenge: Build a project that uses open-source or open-weight AI as an important part of how it works. Teams could create an agent skill, build with an open-weight large or small language model, or build or adapt an open-source model harness.

Requirements
- Open-source or open-weight AI has to be a genuinely important part of the project
- Project goes in a public GitHub repo with an open-source license
- Agent skills need to comply with the Agent Skill Open Standard
- Model-harness entries need original work or meaningful changes to an existing open-source harness

📅 Date: Saturday 17 October 2026
🕚 Time: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
📍 Location: Engineered Arts HQ, Falmouth, Cornwall, UK
🍕 Snacks & drinks provided

Please note: As our HQ is a working robotics lab, all attendees will need to sign an NDA on arrival to protect robots in development. Nothing to do with the hackathon, just standard practice for anyone walking around a space full of robots and parts still in development

Be sure to share pics and screenshots with the community and tag #Hacktoberfest!
