Event Description

Hacktoberfest Hack Day Banjul x Open Digital Sovereignty Initiative

Join us at The Disruptive Lab, in Bakau, The Gambia for a full day of hands-on open source contribution. This Hack Day is designed for anyone curious about open source, whether you've never opened a pull request before or you're looking to go deeper. Expect workshops, dedicated build time, and prizes for meaningful contributions.

This event is the capstone of our "Road to Hacktoberfest" series, run in partnership with Open Source Community Africa (OSCA) Gambia, a run of community meetups building participants' skills and confidence in open-source contribution ahead of the main event. No prior experience needed, the series and the Hack Day itself are built to take you from first exposure to your first real contribution.

Hosted by the Open Digital Sovereignty Initiative (ODSI), an organization dedicated to strengthening Africa's open-source ecosystem and advancing digital sovereignty across the continent.
