Event Description

HACKTOBERFEST 2026 × Build54 Africa

Africa’s builders are not waiting for the future. They’re building it.

This October, B54 is bringing Hacktoberfest to Africa (Rwanda) for a month of building, experimentation, learning and collaboration around open source and AI.

We’re bringing together students, developers, designers, innovators and technology enthusiasts to learn new skills, experiment with emerging technologies, collaborate with other builders and create solutions that matter.

What to expect

• Build— Work on real projects and explore open-source technologies.

• Experiment— Discover what’s possible with AI and emerging technologies.

• Learn— Join technical sessions, workshops and community activities.

• Connect— Meet developers, innovators and fellow builders.

• Showcase— Put your ideas, skills and projects into the spotlight.

From campus activations to community-led activities, B54 is creating spaces where African builders can learn by doing, build together and turn ideas into impact.

Whether you’re writing your first line of code or already building production-ready solutions, Hacktoberfest × B54 is for you.

Learn. Build. Impact.

Build54 Africa Foundation is a Pan-African organisation focused on developing Africa’s next generation of builders, innovators, and technology leaders. We create practical pathways into technology through hackathons and innovation challenges, STEM and technical education, hands-on technology training, and opportunities for young people to build solutions to real-world challenges. Through our programmes, participants move beyond learning theory to developing practical skills, collaborating with peers and mentors, experimenting with emerging technologies, and creating solutions with potential impact across Africa.
