Event Description
Join us in Barcelona on October 24 for a one-day Hack Day, part of Hacktoberfest 2026 — a global technology festival organized by Major League Hacking (MLH) and DEV.
This year's Hacktoberfest is all about open-source AI and open-weight models, and using AI tools while you build is actively encouraged. You'll have 5 hours to turn an idea into a working prototype — no fixed direction, just you, an idea, and a team. A partner track will be announced closer to the event, so keep an eye on updates.
How it will work:
- Team up — come with your own team, find one in our Telegram chat before the event, or team up with someone on the day
- Pick an idea — no need to arrive with a ready-made project; per the official Hacktoberfest rules, work on your submission has to start at the event (hacktoberfest-handbook.mlh.com)
- Build — 5 hours to design, build, and polish a working prototype
- Demo & judging — show what you built, get feedback from the judges, and the best projects take home prizes
Who is this for?
Doesn't matter if you're coming with a team or without one, with a polished idea or none at all, with deep technical skills or none — vibe coding means you can build with AI tools even if you've never shipped a product before. If you're an IT specialist, digital nomad, or someone who's been meaning to start your own thing but never found the time — this is your 5 hours.
